Forster August Pianos have vary varied in quality – passed through “Iron curtain†phase. Best older and very modern ones are excellent. Made a fair number of grand pianos during the “Iron curtain†phase (1945 – 1991); the actions of these tend to be inferior. Pre 1930 uprights are tall and can be very good.
